A traditional Japanese "Ozashiki" floor fan — designed to sit low, at the same height as people resting on tatami mats. This was the era before air conditioning filled every room. The era when families gathered in one space, and let the fan carry the evening heat away. The blue blades still hold their color — that particular shade of summer, preserved in plastic. The control panel reads "SOLID STATE." Five wind speeds. A 60-minute timer. Someone once set that dial and drifted off to sleep. On the rear panel: serial number 1246476.
